Very little to say without getting in too much trouble. Too many broken promises, I know, as with me often forgetting to, you know, tell people the status of the film. The truth: I never knew how long this would take. A decent guess for release: summer. What part of summer? Don't know; to be honest I don't want to dream up another magic end date that isn't accurate.

The important: Archetype will be finished. It will not die a sad, quiet death like so many independent films. It will live. You will see it. It might play at festivals if it makes any sense because at this point I've lost all objectivity. All the hard work by so many people will not go unnoticed and unrecognized.

Man, this sounds really depressing if I don't unnecessarily inject some silliness. So here's a picture of our movie dog, Rinna, dressed up for Christmas. Only appropriate for the most-delayed film in history (well, except, say, Apocalypse Now) to have a picture circa Christmas.

I wrote a book

From January 2010 through November 2011 I wrote a novel while making Archetype. While it started as a small project intended as a sort of freebie to be released in tandem with Arc, it grew into a much larger project. The end result is a very long book (roughly half as long as The Bible) that I'm posting chapter-by-chapter over this fine blog. But if you head over there, you'll want to start at the Prologue.

Why pimp it on a separate project's blog? Well, it ties into Archetype (and, by extension, Transmissions), and while I don't want to reveal my cards quite yet, it completes the unofficial trilogy of Transmissions, Archetype, and the book, titled Meridien K. So while Meridien K doesn't involve Ridley Kraid, it's in the same league with the themes of my other work.

And as always, there are a few breadcrumb scattered around that point toward my future projects...

Thus I thought it pertinent to post a notice here. And did I mention that the book is free? People like free things. And if you don't like it, well, you can stop reading and get your zero dollars refunded. Everyone wins.
